The Restoration Initiative for Culture and Community and Canal Street Church have a long, deeply connected relationship. Originally founded as and designed to be a non-profit serving alongside the ministry of CSC nine years ago, The RICC has grown and developed quite a bit since then. Even still, a good portion of the work continues to be anchored at CSC. Restoration Journeys, the short-term missions program of The RICC, depends on the building space to house incoming teams. Restoration Journeys teams stay in the dorm space at CSC and utilize the facility for meals, training, Bible study, and debrief time. The space provides a clean, safe environment where our teams can rest and recharge for their ministry projects, as well as process and work through their call to missions.
In years past, the building space was also used for our Community Solutions division, including homework help and after-school programming for neighborhood kids and their families. As we move toward a healthier second half of 2021, we look forward to restarting some of these programs as safety protocols allow.
